PRESS RELEASE

August 15th and 16th, 2009 will be the last Cameco Canada Remembers Int. Air Show.

The last 13 years have been an amazing journey ... full of stories, tears of joy ... tears of sadness; memorable, but tears nonetheless. We've had a wonderful opportunity to gather as a community, as a province and a nation, to share our gratitude in a proud and public format to those who risked and sacrificed so much.

These men and women ... some barely out of high school, gave up their youth, their future ... and for many thousands, their lives.

Today, there's things in everyday life that you and I - on some ways, even actually expect!! And really do take for granted; simple things that were handed down to us because of the risks taken by our Veterans. Their determination, commitment, valour and sacrifice, has formed the very moral fabric of this country over the last 50 or 60 years.

So, as our city continues to thrive, grow and prosper, the results of a strong economy that each and every one of us welcomes with open arms, will now also be putting an end to the Cameco Canada Remembers Int. Air Show.

On-going property development plans at the Saskatoon Airport will no longer make the Air Show a feasible project to host at that location; the logistics of operating a very busy Airport with a growing residential area around it, makes it increasingly challenging to produce an event the size of this Air Show.

The management, staff, clients and customers at Saskatoon's John G. Diefenbaker Airport have been exceptional to work with over the past 13 years; we're going to miss the mutual respect and cooperation that, together with the project's valued sponsors, have made this event one we can all be very proud of.

Thank you everyone - we hope to see you August 15th and 16th 2009 at the Saskatoon Airport for what will be the last ... and when the province fully realizes it will, be the last ... I anticipate a BIG, Cameco Canada Remembers Int. Air Show.

Once again, on behalf of all participating Veterans Organizations, we'd like to extend a huge note of appreciation to everyone who has taken the time to come out over the last 13 years and help salute our aging heroes. And I encourage you to make plans to attend one last time next summer.

Lest We Forget.
